ADVISORY BOARD

H.E. Ambassador Sotirios Zackheos’ career in the Foreign Ministry commenced in 1974, spanning more that three decades and included appointments as Ambassador in Beijing, Permanent Representative in the UN office in Geneva and Permanent Representative at the United Nations in New York, before returning to the Ministry in his capacity as Permanent Secretary (Deputy Foreign Minister).  

In the long course of his service, Ambassador Zackheos participated in conferences abroad and represented Cyprus in sessions of the UN General Assembly, the Council of Europe, the Commonwealth and the Non-Aligned Movement.  

Ambassador Zackheos currently holds the following positions:

    * Chairman of the Private Consulting Company "S. Zackheos and Associates Ltd"
    * Chairman of The European Arab Interactive Forum (EAIF)
    * Advisor to the C.E.O. of the Russian Commercial Bank
    * Advisor to the largest construction company in Cyprus: J&P Group.
    * Member of the Board of Directors of Sharelink Financial Services (SFS) Group
    * Special Envoy of the President of Cyprus (on an ad hoc basis).

Ambassador  Zackheos has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic and Political Sciences from the University of Athens, Greece. He has a Post-graduate degree in Political Science from Stanford University in the United States.

Besides Greek, he speaks fluent English, French and Russian. He has been honored by the Greek Republic with the Grand Cross of the Order of the Phoenix and also honored by the Slovenian Republic with the Golden Order for Services in the Diplomatic and International Field.
