ABOUT THE PARASKEVAIDES GROUP
Introduction
The Paraskevaides Group of Companies was established in the 1940's by George Paraskevaides O.B.E.
Its first activities were in the building and civil engineering contracting field, operating initially in Cyprus and very soon expanding both geographically and in other business activities.

The Paraskevaides Group of Companies interests include Joannou & Paraskevaides (J&P), a privately owned contracting company with a number of partners which ranks amongst the largest international contractors in the world.
The Group’s operations are in the Arabian Gulf, North Africa, Europe and Asia. Projects undertaken include Airports, Roads, Power Stations, Bridges & Tunnels, Hotels, Office and Commercial Buildings and large Housing Projects, Olympic Games Installations and generally most building and civil engineering works.
In the Electrical and Mechanical contracting field, the Group has interest (through a subsidiary of J&P) a highly specialised group of companies that specialises in the provision of electromechanical solutions.
The group has successfully executed a large number of complex multi-million dollar projects, including work for Hotels, Airports, Power Stations, Sports Complexes, Roads, Dams, Hospitals, and other Defence, Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Educational related projects.

Given the criticality of sustainable Energy development projects globally, the Group has expanded its activities in the Energy sector with its recently established company EP Global Energy Ltd.
EP Global Energy is a private Energy Project Development Company active in both Renewable (Wind, Hydro, Solar) and Traditional Generation, with projects under negotiation and development in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Gulf Region, and North Africa.
Property Development and Design
Another main activity of the Group is that of property development with operations in Europe through a number of its companies.
Development projects undertaken include luxurious residential and holiday properties, all completed under the Group's strictest quality requirements.
In the USA, the Group has a significant presence, with estimated value of projects under development is approximately $2.0 billion.
Hotel and leisure
The Group is active in the hotel business with involvement in the Athens Ledra Marriott Hotel and (through its interests in other companies) The Athens and Doha InterContinental Hotels. Additionally, the Group is the owner of the exclusive L’Onda Beach Hotel in Cyprus, winner of the International Thompson's Award for 6 consecutive years.
The Group operates the franchisee for the Kentucky Fried Chicken chain in Cyprus and is involved in the Cyprus franchise of Goody's, ranchise for Hard Rock Café in Greece and Cyprus, and FloCafe, Greece's most successful chains of fast food restaurants and cafes.
Pharmaceutical sector
The Group is involved in the pharmaceutical agency and distribution sector for more than 30 years. Through Phadisco, it represents in Cyprus a number of pharmaceutical brands, including Wyeth and Lilly.
The Group is a major shareholder in Lavipharm Distribution Ltd, Cyprus’s leading distributor of pharmaceutical, Over-the-Counter (OTC) and cosmetic products to pharmacies.
In addition, the Group has a major participation in MEGACROSS Pharmacy Services Ltd, a pioneering company in the pharmaceutical retail sector which operates through partnerships with pharmacists.
Manufacturing and specialised trading
In the manufacturing field, the Group owns and operates successfully a steel manufacturing plant with operations in Cyprus and two switchgear assembly plants in the Middle East in association with MERLIN GERIN of GROUPE SCHNEIDER.
Additionally, the Group is in partnership with McQuay Corporation, one of the major air conditioning manufacturers in the U.S., in McQuay Hellas, the corporation’s agent in Greece. In Greece and Cyprus, the Group also represents Satchwell, the wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric Corporation (G.E.C.), which manufactures built-in management systems.
